Winslow and Schroeder Scholarship Application: pdf or word

These scholarships are for students pursuing a degree in the sciences. The Scholarships are divided into the following categories:

Career Based Scholarships ( top )

The California Women's Conference Scholars Program is open to all female California residents completing their second-year in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year California college or university. (Click here for a flyer)
Requirements: Applicants must be pursuing a bachelors degree in nursing, business, math or science, or special education (with plans to be a special education teacher); and must submit a one-page essay describing their community service involvement over the past two years.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship (up to $7,500 per academic year)
For juniors and seniors who will pursue career in mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering.
Requirements: must have at least "B" average, is a citizen or permanent resident
Nomination materials available September 2, 2005
Deadline: Passed - Faculty nominations due February 1, 2006

Bernarr J. Hall Scholarship (up to $4,000 per award)
For careers planned in California agriculture
Requirements: California Resident, min. GPA 3.2
Deadline: Passed - April 10, 2006

Myron Winslow Scholarship (up to $6,500 per award)
For undergraduate students who will pursue careers in Veterinary medicine or agricultural science
Requirements: Permanent Resident of Riverside or San Bernardino County , min. GPA 3.0

Research Based Scholarships ( top )

CNAS/UHP Research Fellowship ($400 for winter and spring)
For research in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences
Duration: Winter and Spring Quarter

CNAS Freshman Scholar Summer Internship ($2,000 for 8 weeks, and $200 for faculty)
For research in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences; Click here to view the application

Dana King Scholarship (up to $4,000)
For research in agriculture
Deadline: Passed - April 10, 2006

Dean's Fellowship ($3,000 for 10 weeks, and $300 for faculty)
For research in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences

Howard Walton Clark Prize in Plant Breeding and Soil Building ($2500 - one awarded each year)
Criteria:
Annual prize to be given to the “senior student in the College of Agriculture whose high scholastic achievement, talent for independent research, and other characteristics, with particular reference to either plant breeding (leading to new/improved crops and new/improved varieties using appropriate tools) or soil building (leading to improving soil quality related to soil productivity and sustainability as a resource), seems to show the greatest promise.”

For research in natural or agricultural science

For research in agriculture

James and Margaret Lesley Annual Prize (up to $1,000 per award)
For research in biological or agricultural science

James and Adeline Wallace Prize (up to $2,500 per award)
For research related to citrus or other plant pathology problems

Scholarships to Assist Students in the Sciences ( top )

Herbert Kraft Scholarship Fund (up to $4,000 per award)
Scholarship for students in the field of agriculture
Requirement: must be a California High School graduate
Deadline: Passed - April 10, 2006

Homer and Daisy Chapman Endowed Scholarship in Citrus/Soil and Plant Nutrition Research (up to $3,000 per award)
Assists undergraduates and graduates wishing to pursue studies in citrus research as well as soil and plant nutrition (preference given to citrus research)
Deadline: Passed - April 10, 2006

Janet M. Boyce Memorial Scholarship (up to $3,000 per award)
Support for women undergraduate students in the sciences.

Karin Moore-Gandolfo Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry (up to $500)
Support for undergraduate chemistry majors
Deadline: Passed - April 10, 2006

Mark and Eve Schroeder Endowed Student Award (up to $700)
To provide financial assistance for undergraduate students majoring in environmental science, earth science, or a related field in the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences. Preference will be given to students with a research interest involving fire science.

Supports undergraduates who demonstrate financial need and academic proficiency in science studies
